Reproductive and Hormonal Health

The prevalence of infertility amongst the general population is
9-15% in industrialized countries. This increase in prevalence is believed to be due to :

  • Delaying childbirth
  • A decline in the quality of sperm over the years
  • Exposure to detrimental environmental factors.

Because around 50% of fertility issues & miscarriage are related to the health of the male, it is important for both partners to undergo a detoxification program and preconception work up.

Your chances of conception are greatly enhanced if we are able to establish whether there are problems with hormone balance, stress hormones, heavy metal toxicity, nutrient &/or dietary deficiencies. You may therefore be recommended for some in-house or pathology tests.

If you are currently undergoing IVF, this natural approach to health and conception will enhance that process, increasing the health of the fetus and decreasing the risks of miscarriage.

Recent research has discovered that toxins actually do pass through the placenta to the unborn baby. By detoxifying and balancing your body prior to conception you are therefore decreasing the toxins that your baby will be born with. This will subsequently decrease the risk of problems such as ADHD, eczema or asthma developing.

It is recommended that you commit yourself to a four month pre-conception program. This will allow time for a complete detoxification and for the production of healthy sperm and ovum.

Apart from fertility issues there are a range of hormonal related health problems that are also on the increase. For example, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, hormonal related cancers (e.g. breast cancer) and problems with menopause. This is largely believed to be due to the Western Diet, in particular insulin resistance and raised levels of estrogens in our food supply. Each of these problems can be eradicated with the right treatment strategy. During your consultation you will be advised about appropriate dietary change and given specific supplementation to rectify any imbalances that are causing your symptoms.
